Who we are

We are John and Teresa Koontz who live in Santa Barbara, CA. We enjoy cruising and in 2019 purchased our current boat NIRVANA, a Taswell 49 All Season cutter designed by Bill Dixon and built in the Ta Shing boatyard in Taiwan in 1992. John completed an extensive refit of the boat and we’re kicking off some distant travel on her to Mexico in 2025. Our sons, Morgan and Dylan were raised cruising the Channel Islands with us on our Tayana 37 Ketch, Cherokee and continue to prioritize time to cruise with us now as grown adults. This is an online place family and friends can go to follow our travels. Enjoy!
